POUCH-PUNCH ME! (Mind-blowing Kangaroo birth)

We all know that most mammals conceive by consumating or laying eggs. With kangaroos, things are mind-blowing. Kangaroos are marsupials that are mostly found on Australian outbacks. There are four types red kangaroos, antilopine kangaroos, western gray kangaroos and eastern grey kangaroos. Kangaroos breed all year round so if your looking to witness this, you are in luck!

Kangaroos.

The female kangaroos become pregnant one month after mating. They give birth to a jelly-bean size kangaroo known as a joey. The joey is hairless, blind and so small that the mother can not touch. The mother kangaroo licks fur to create a pathway for the joey. Joey uses sense of smell to guide it to the mother’s pouch pulling itself using sharp claws. Crazy, right? You are wondering how this is even possible. That makes two of us.

Joey-size of a jelly-bean.

Joey remains in the pouch for at least six months. The joey feeds on mother’s milk(suckling) and grows gradually. Slowly it grows fur and it’s eyes open. As the joey grows, it pokes it’s head out of the mother’s pouch. At approximately six months old, joey will make short trips out of it’s mother’s pouch. By eight months, the joey is fully independent. It feeds for a year before it begins grazing like the rest of kangaroos. From here, female kangaroos become sexually mature in approximately two years.

The joey pokes the head out the pouch.

Well, here are some fun facts about kangaroos. Kangaroos can raise about three joeys simultaneously; one on foot, one on the womb and one on the pouch. Kangaroos live in small troops of about seven to ten. Kangaroos are about 90 kilograms, 2 metres height and a speed of 56km per hour. Kangaroos are herbivores and constantly feed on grass. Kangaroos have a lifespan of approximately ten to twenty years in the wild. That’s enough to take in for day. Adíos!

Lifespan of approximately 10-20 years.

SHE/HE READY! (Face exfoliation)

The skin as a very sensitive body organ. It is mandatory that we take the necessary precautions to take good care of our skin. Face exfoliation is the washing or rubbing of the face with a granular substance to remove dead skin cells. Skin cells replicate every minute and some dead cells do not fall off they instead cling on to the rejuvenated skin. There are two types of face exfoliation; chemical and physical/mechanical.

The skin is a sensitive organ.

Physical/mechanical face exfoliation involves use of natural substances to exfoliate. Physical exfoliators include baking soda, finely ground sugar, coffee grounds, finely ground sea salt and cinnamon. Chemical exfoliators are alpha hydroxy acid(AHA) and beta hydroxy acid(BHA). AHA is for normal and dry skin. It is water soluble and good to hydrate skin. BHA is ideal for oily skin. It is oil soluble and good to unclog pores, treat blackheads and zits.

Two types of exfoliators(physical and chemical)

Before face exfoliating, wash face with luke warm water. For physical exfoliators rub in small upward and circular motion with fingers and for chemical (liquid) apply with cotton pad or wash cloth. Let it stay for a while. Wash your face with warm water and pat with a dry towel. Luck in moisture with cream and anti-aging serum. With that, you are good to go.

Exfoliation solely depends on skin type.

Exfoliating solely depends on one’s skin type. There are three skin types; oily, normal and dry skin. For oily skin they should exfoliate more often and dry skin should exfoliate one or two times a week. Over-exfoliation might lead to redness or irritation of the skin. Some benefits of face exfoliating include removing dead skin, improving circulation, skin turn over (brighter skin) and better absorption of moisturizers and serum.

Exfoliation is a unisex “thing”.

That marks the end of this piece. Make sure you exfoliate your skin to rejuvenate it. However, when using mechanical method don’t apply too much pressure. You might end up doing more harm than good to your skin. Don’t be selfish with this information, tell a friend to tell a friend not forgetting that exfoliating is a unisex “thing”. Let’s all glow!

Ages ago in some Kenyan communities, ladies who had gap tooth were considered very precious. It was mandatory that the groom paid double the normal bride price. Therefore most ladies were engaged to royalty who could easily afford the bride price. With that said, let no one tell you that your gap tooth is a defect because you are royalty. As a matter of fact it should boost your self esteem just like the phenomenal Uzo Aduba popular for her role in Candy Jar and Orange is the New Black.

Sometimes, the tooth gap might affect speech but that’s something that can be fixed. By using orthodontic braces to narrow the gap if it extra large but don’t get rid of it completely. You can also try speech therapy. A gap tooth can be a natural signature look like the gorgeous American singer and actress Becky G and not forgetting the many celebrities who still hold on to their opulent blemish.
